The delegation of BUCE headed by the Chairman of the Board Arkady Salikov visited Istanbul (the Republic of Turkey) from 24 to 27 November, 2013.
The representatives of Association of manufacturers, Association of construction organizations, Association of wood processing industry (Istanbul), Organization of
Eurasian cooperation (the Republic of Bulgaria), managers of such Turkish companies as EkenInsaat, DosametMetal, MaredoTekstil, EkenMedia, GYT and others took part in the forum that was held during the business visit. One of the participants of the forum was the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul Igor Bely.
During the forum the presentation of the BUCE activities and its services on organizing and conducting electronic and exchange auctions was reported. Such issues as steel and lumber sale on the Turkish market with the use of the BUCE exchange trade instruments, participation of Turkish companies in trading of industrial and consumer goods and other were discussed. The forum with the Turkish company EkenInsaat resulted in signing of a cooperation agreement providing for the establishment of partnership relations concerning the wholesale trade in exchange, industrial and consumer goods.
In accordance with the visit program the participants of the forum visited also the warehouses of Turkish company DosametMetal, which resulted in an agreement on accreditation of an exchange warehouse in Istanbul.
Both parties Belarusian and Turkish forum participants agreed also on a return visit of the delegation of Istanbul business community to Minsk in the first quarter of 2014 in order to discuss the arrangements on steel and lumber sale in Turkey using electronic and exchange trade instruments.
During the meeting the Belarusian delegation visited also the Istanbul Commodity Exchange (ISTIB), where negotiations of the BUCE Chairman of the Board Arkady Salikov and the ISTIB President of the Board of Directors, the vice-president of the Union of Industrial Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Kamuro Ali Kopuza were held. Following the talks, in the presence of the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul Igor Bely the parties signed a cooperation agreement providing for the establishment of partnership, the development of trade and economic relations, sharing with the results of the marketing research of Belarusian and Turkish commodity markets and price survey. For the development of exchanges cooperation the parties agreed on the visit of the delegation of Istanbul Commodity Exchange in Minsk in 2014.
For reference: Istanbul Commodity Exchange is the largest commodity exchange in Turkey, it trades mostly in agricultural products. More than 10 000 companies are accredited on this exchange. As for the volume of the exchange transactions it exceeds USD 7 billion.
